(1 Cor 10:11 NRSV) These things happened to them to serve as an example, and they were written down to instruct us, on whom the ends of the ages have come.

As the Creator led humankind slowly along the path of enlightenment he also began to reveal His eternal purpose to them.

The revelation of a righteous and holy God confronted humankind with a profound dilemna. How could they satisfy the holiness of God when they were in such a state of sinfulness?

(John 5:39 NIV) You diligently study the Scriptures because you think that by them you possess eternal life. These are the Scriptures that testify about me.
